The good thing about being working only 2 days a week, is when you get to wake up early, check whats on store for the day, and take pleasure of accidental findings.
Today, I bumped into a little unsual set of exhibitions, performed in the space of 3 hrs, 27 art students from Belgium performed a solo show for 7 glorious minutes. With opening drinks and all for each of them, the Fordham Gallery, located in the middle of the Whitecross Street market (yes, it's a stall!!), presented to curious and intrigued passing bys from 'hot art' to drawn crocodiles, free napkins and painted leafs.


Although I wasn't sure what to take from all of what was shown, something is for sure to take, facing the disgraceful amputations that art funding in England is suffering, there is the need for new and more appropiate ways of claiming public spaces,'Wish you were here' exhibition was a great example.

'Showing emotion became a crime. You are supposed to be mild and fine, not too happy nor too sad. The 'normal fineness'. Expression is aggression. People cannot face others overflown emotion. They are well kept from each other in certain distance. So they prefer the 'nice' to the honest one.

Sometimes I feel outrage. I want throw everything and brake, move my body in the biggest motion and shout as loud as I can or I have ever heard. I don't know what stops me not to. There's fear, uknown other's existence. And there is me worrying how they would think of me. I want to be the nice to be around. The friendable one, the sociable one.

 The relationships people make are based on the elementary unit box which filled with all those manners and worries. But it's not only one. The box has another box inside and the other. So the relationships we have are made of the walls of the boxes. The thicken layers. We are not connected, but we block each other with the layers. We try not to see each others as we are.

When the layers make airless, the outcry comes. We thicken the wall again. 

I am protecting myself under the helmet. And you are protecting yourself under yours too. Wherether you are the enemy or not, I'm not for you. I am well keeping myself to be myself. And I believe that you are doing the same. I breath but the warmth of my breath only covers myself, keeps my skin soft and humid. The doors opened to outside are the only place, I believe, I could get attacked. So I'm scared wheter I'm going to die out of this loneliness or with a sudden attack which would, might never come. So I die here in the darkness of my shield.

I blind you.
I cut your mouth off.

Camberwell external exhibition at the Rag Factory

A few weeks ago I went to the Camberwell's BA Grafic Design external show at the Rag Factory mainly to have a nose around the space, since we were to have our show in the same venue.

It wasn't a surprise the show was very good and full packed, so luckily Jackie and I made sure to get early so we could actually see the work up.

We were the first to get to try a real fun piece that involved a cheese 80's beach poster background a fan to blow your hair and a Fujifilm instant camera. We also gave the photo a go in tryng to get some effects on in by folding it before it's fully exposed, somethig we used to do when dear polaroids were not as horribly difficult to get; it did sort of work, but I guess there is gonna have to be a lot experimentation to find good little instant and uncontrolled special effects before fuji instand films get my heart.  I have beeingtrying for ages to find the girl's who did this piece name, but seams impossible, she did not have a business card and the case for the photo she gave away with her email as only contact detail went missing... but I think her name was Sarah? ... no idea of surname... :(

The other piece I saw and which I consider my favourite in the show was 'Mechanicky Orgasmus' and very sexy video piece by Hellen Ralli. I found her work via Holy Ghost blog.

Animal Skulls ...

So time to catch up has come.. and is so exciting, there  is a little project  I'm doing some research for, still all in the air,  but it will involved a beautiful fashion collection,  some animal like pouses  maybe, the roof and corridors of the Art Deco building I'm currently living in hopefully.. and some bare skin with chunks of geometric minimalistic patterns perhaps....  trying to stop my head from wanting to put it all there and keep it suuuuper simple... but this stage is just my favorite, where everything you see seams to want take part of it.... so expect many images  coming for this project which for now I will simply call 'animal skulls'....

"More than 60 internationally renowned academics from across the globe have written to the dean of Middlesex University urging him to reverse the decision to close the philosophy department.

Alain Badiou, Judith Butler, Slavoj Žižek and Noam Chomsky were among those who condemned the decision.

Chomsky said he was "deeply disturbed to learn of the decision" and that he hoped it would be reversed "for the sake of the university, the intellectual life in the UK, and not least the future of this ancient and indispensible discipline worldwide".

Michael Hardt, from Duke University in North Carolina, US, said: "I can think of no other philosophy department in the US, UK, or Australia that rises to the level of Middlesex [in the study of continental philosophy]."
