Ceramic has a domestic and home like context, like something you find at your grandmothers home, it is also fragile and very often we connect it with being expensive, something that as a child you are not aloud to play with, is a decorative beautiful object, I am thinking in particular  those white and blue little persons.

So for my little 'narcissus and echo' forest, I would like to make them out of ceramic. I like the thought of their fragility, the being a beautiful object that you acquire  as an adult. They would be depicting a moment which is tragic and cruel and totally private, I think this disassociation would make it very strong. I would like echo to be reflective, mirror like, to stand in front of echo and be her mirror.

When I found Voerman's work, I had already been researching on victims and tyrants for a while; and had already red the myth of 'narcissus and echo' and was thinking in how to create this little forest, a small 'box' where you could looking in to and witness their encounter. I quite like the rawness of Voerman's little constructions, in 'mega farm' the being able to see all the materials, very much like if he just found them on the floor and then made this and in 'host 3' hos it sort of grows in many directions.

Blade Rubber

for those who love stamps as much as I do, there is this really cool place close to the british museum, call Blade Rubber, how cool is that name huh?

apparently they are real quick, like you send them a PDF with your design and they will have it for like the day after, and they are not too pricey, like you can get them for around 10 or 15 quid, obviously, such is life, size matters....

Corinne Mercadier

find him so sad... but i suspect is only me actually... what do you think?

More research on the atmosphere. Blurriness, ghostiness, solitude, dreamy. The depth, the colours and the unfocus pinhole like aesthetic is somewhat between creepy and  beautiful, scary and quiet.

Violence is not always loud, is not always punishment, is not always physical . There is the other side, this other kind inflicted through indifference, where there is no compassion, neglect. It is very blurry to me, very quiet.
This is the kind of violence i'm interested in,  the relationship of the victim and the tyrant in this context.

not the fashion but the man... he is a cynical fuck.... i love him

This little fattie stayed at home.
This little fattie had potato chips,
This little fattie had none.
And this little fattie went "Snort! Snort! Snort!" all the way home.

kenichi okada

See here the video of his Delay Mirror

grauated from lcc... then RCI.... and well... hmmm ... a geek

we saw his work, remember moon? at Revital's graduating exhibition..

I was looking into tricks with mirrors, trying to find the way to make once disappear, thinking how expensive are mirrors and thus making it pretty difficult to even simply experiment with them, brake them, cut them, paint on them, and still can't even imagine how to fake that moment of invisibility, can i fake it another way?

This project does not help me solve that problem but, I found this piece of work very interesting, and this game of illusory reflection reminds me of that duality (victim and tyrant) have we become the self and the other? is this the way out to hell is other people? becoming our own response to our own existence?

PATRIC HUGHES

".....in axonometric projection.... not made in perspective, because it does not diminsh towards a vanishing point, but it looks like perspective ... his works are usually made in forced perspective, and in reverse, he is interested to see what spectators make of this object: which when you look at it, looks as if it has already been looked at...."

when rOman first told me about this guy exhibition at the flowers gallery I checked their website and I went like meeehh, kinda thing you know.. today I was there with leonardo and this guy fucking rocks man, moon, if you are one of those weirdoes who gets high at space investigations... you gotta look at this guy.. forget about the website .. it looks boring.. in flesh though, I loved it... well... lately I love everything hehe... like that concert of Michael Nyman that I found so overwhelming that I cry while moon was next to me sleeping, hehehe.... (here, to defend myself I have to admit that I found the first part of the concert rather cheesy, you know he even played the piano track! ... geeeeeees, it was the second part that was fantastic) ... anyway, if you do go to the gallery, forget about downstairs... go straight up...

Later on I came back to this guys work, when I started in looking for ways to make you feel invisible. I was looking into making a mirror full body size ( a whole wall, in my wildest dreams) where you could see the reflection of everyone and everything in the room.. except for yourself. Kind of like a vampire. How does it feel to not be able to find your reflection? This idea came  from my visual research on victims and tyrants, and my reading of 'The Nausea' by Jean Paul Sartre.

..Hell is other people'...  he writes, and it refers to the need of the other recognition in order to exist. I am only from the moment you can see me, there for we are in a never ending search for this eyes, for this response from the other to our existence, this is reflection. Where you can not reflect you don't exist, Invisibility is the end and the beginning of all cruelty.

The reason I came back to him was the use he gives to different planes in his 3 dimensional painting, giving an amazing illusion of movement and space. I wondered if I could use his tricks for making the mirror, perhaps using some weird angles I can find the way to make the person standing right in front of it disappear, not find his reflection, become invisible.

Pull yourself together

Art of levitation

After Richter, and the over painted photographs, I started looking onto ways of making  distorted and blurry photography. I found the links for the Pinhole camera and got really into researching photographers. By the time I bumped into the work of Eleanor Hardwick I was already planning in doing a pinhole camera photo shoot, the idea of duality in between Victim and Tyrant was already very strong and I was looking for work that had this atmosphere. I was working on the  storyboard for the pinhole in brighton and I found this images very inspiring.
